The owners of McGlasson’s Fruit Stand in Hebron, KY have allowed me to wander the property, easel in hand, for the last fifteen years. On this particular day in early November I happened on the remains of their harvested peppers. A motif like this is really not a landscape, more like an outdoor still life. But unlike the still life you set up in the studio, something like this is subject to the whims of nature, and of whoever happens to own the property. On the second day, the irrigation tube had been removed.
