November brings Cincinnati its wildest meteorological mood swings. During several days the thermometer kissed the eighty-mark, some of these days under bright, clear skies. Other days offered relative warmth under overcast skies. And some gave us howling winds and plummeting temperatures.

The day of this particular picture pretty much offered all of the above. It began warm and clear enough to lure me out to Mt. Adams, a charming neighborhood a few miles from downtown. By the time I found a motif and a place to park, the sky began falling, and the slate colored sky was the unmistakable portent of gale force winds. Simplification wasn’t an aesthetic choice, it was the only option open to me.

By the time I had what I wanted, I could no longer feel my fingers.
